Not the best page, But can't quite put my finger on why. I think could've done with some more inkwork on simple things like curtains/window/etc. Some of the bottom half frames mush into eachother a bit too - lemme know any thoughts/feedback you might have!

This is a very strange artistic effort. Duly intrigued and subscribed.

I'm sure some editor would rip you for "pacing" or something like that, but I love it, I think it looks cool!

Hmm I was wondering about this actually - what do you make of the pacing? Was talking to my brother about how I'm trying to make each page either visually interesting or stick at least one gag in there. As a result I think once read page by page, it jumps a little oddly. DO you reckon it's a frame by frame thing or a page by page thing?
Also: Cheers :D

This is the first comic that has ever made me consider working digitally.

Wow, I might need something to keep my ego in check after reading that. Thanks! Really great to know. I've actually mostly hated digital colouring for ages, but I do see the occasional thing I like. I think once you try your hand at it, just using it in moderation to achieve the look your want is the best way to go.

UJ, I know what you're talking about, I don't even know how this is done, I'm very intrigued by this art.

Scanned pages + Photoshop, mister! And a graphics tablet that I borrow off my housemate. The Duckstorm Stabstorm was the first thing I used the graphics tablet on, so not that long ago - but getting more used to it now.

This comic is fantastic! I love how the colors and textures recall the old four-color comics, but are used to powerful effect rather than being limitations.
Since you ask for feedback, I think there are few things going on that make this page hard to follow. 1) The "Look at that thing" line, at first glance, could belong to either the first or second tier. Might work better up higher, in front of the clouds. 2) In the third tier, my first thought is that all lines are spoken by the lighthouse keeper. If the image of he and the baldy were flipped it would help. 3) Below that, the red/yellow gradient causes two panels to run together. Maybe make one panel red in the background and the other yellow? 4) The super-high contrast texture in panel 5 pulls my attention and causes a negative space to leap forward. I would tone it down or just go with a solid color.
Even with that stuff going on, this is a beautiful page. I wouldn't mess with the ink work, it is spot on. Keep simple things simple. Sorry if I'm irritating, I do enjoy analyzing comics.

Woa.
I really can't thank you enough for taking time to give me this feedback - it's all genuinely useful (and trustworthy, I got out of bed pretty late today thanks to your comic) But yeah - i'm finishing/printing this before october, and I think I'll be using all your suggestions. The gradient thing is the one bit that did occur to me whilst making it - I might fool around with tinting one of them but we'll see.
Really appreciated that! It's not irritating at all, please don't hold back in the future :D
